SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. (WABC) -- A body was found in a house that caught fire late Tuesday night in New Jersey.
South Brunswick police say they received several 911 calls reporting a structure fire and possible explosion at 2 Cranberry Court. The first officers arrived in less than three minutes and found extensive fire throughout the rear of the two story structure.
It took 75 firefighters approximately 25 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
"The building was fully involved in fire, every window, every door, everything," Kingston Fire Chief Lloyd Mathis said. "There were no rescues. We could not make entry due to the volume of the fire."
One Kingston firefighter, 59-year-old Deputy Chief John Luck, suffered a broken wrist while fighting the fire.
After the fire was brought under control, it was determined one resident was unaccounted for.
A team of investigators from the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office Arson Unit, South Brunswick Police Department, South Brunswick Fire Marshal's Office and the Middlesex County Fire Marshal's Office located the victim inside the structure just after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
The Middlesex County Medical Examiner's Office is conducting an examination of the victim.
The preliminary investigative findings indicate the fire is non suspicious.
The identity of the victim and the cause of death are pending further investigation.
