ELIZABETH, N.J. (WABC) -- Nearly 500 students in Elizabeth, New Jersey public schools are being honored for earning perfect scores on the state's standardized tests.
Third through eighth graders, 497 of them, received certificates celebrating their achievement at a ceremony Tuesday night.
This year's scores are a giant leap from a decade ago when just 12 students in Elizabeth got perfect scores.
Teachers were also recognized for their hard work preparing students for the tests.
