MASPETH (WABC) -- A school in Queens was evacuated and later dismissed Monday after reports of a gasoline smell in the building.

The FDNY received a call just after 9 a.m. that the Martin Luther High School, on Maspeth Avenue in Maspeth, was being cleared.

The students were taken to St. Standislauf Roman Chatholic Church, located a block or two from the school. Officials say the school is closing for the day, and students are being dismissed.

This was done as a precaution.

The FDNY remains on the scene at this time.
