Prom held on Staten Island for autistic teenagers

WEST BRIGHTON (WABC) -- It was a night to remember on Staten Island Wednesday for dozens of teenagers with autism.

The North Central Kiwanis of Staten Island hosted their second annual prom night for more than 100 autistic young people.

They were treated to a night of food, music, dancing and entertainment at a restaurant in West Brighton.

"I feel just like a famous actress who just went to the red-carpet awards," said one of the students. "It's something I've been looking forward to," said another. "Just eating, dancing, and being merry."

The students are graduating from three area schools: The G.R.A.C.E. Foundation of New York, On Your Mark, and Eden II Programs.
