UNIONDALE, NY (WABC) -- He said goodbye to Hollywood, and now, Billy Joel helped to say goodbye to the Nassau Coliseum.
The piano man closed down the arena in Uniondale with a show Tuesday night.
Governor Andrew Cuomo introduced Joel's 32nd performance at the Coliseum.
Billy Joel opened the show at the soon-to-be-shuttered venue with his 1977 hit "Movin' Out."
The concert sold out in 5 minutes.
The coliseum will next undergo a $130 million renovation project. It is set to reopen as a smaller capacity venue in December 2016. The new arena will not have a major league sports franchise, but will stage family entertainment shows.
Joel played the last concerts at Shea Stadium in 2008, grew up in nearby Hicksville, and remains a Long Island resident.
