NEW YORK (WABC) -- Whoopi Goldberg helped make the movie "Ghost" a box office hit 24 years ago, but she won't be playing a ghoul at this year's annual Halloween Parade in Manhattan.
Instead, she'll serve as event's grand marshal.
"The View" co-host will appear on the float that features the parade's theme, which is "The Garden of Earthly Delights."
Hundreds in costumes will march down Sixth Avenue on October 31.
Goldberg says she's "thrilled to be a part of such a time-honored tradition."
The parade is known for the throngs of people it brings out. Along with organized floats and groups, the event welcomes anyone in costume to join in the march.
