Firefighters work against cold and snow while battling fire in Bedford Hills

BEDFORD HILLS (WABC) -- Firefighters battled the elements while working to put out a fire overnight in Westchester County.

The fire broke out inside a chimney just before midnight at a home in Bedford Hills.

Large piles of snow covering the yard made it difficult to get fire trucks close to the home.

Crews also brought in additional tankers because of concerns about frozen hydrants.

The residents made it out safely.
