A house fire in Queens claimed the life of a 58-year-old man who was found in the basement

QUEENS, N.Y. (WABC) -- A two-alarm fire burned through a home in the Glen Oaks section of Queens.

The fire broke out just before 7 a.m. in the home on 265th Street.

Police responded to a 911 call and, once the fire was out, found the body of a 58-year-old man in the basement. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.

The identity of the deceased was not released.
