HARLEM (WABC) -- There has been more crime on the subway and horror for riders Thursday that were threatened by a weapon-wielding man on the train.
Riders reported the man on-board a number 2 train. Police pulled him off the train at the 125th Street Station in Harlem around 9:30 a.m.
Cell phone video showed police escorting 42-year-old James May out of the subway station.
Police say May entered the 2 train at 135th and Lenox when all hell broke loose. While the train was in motion, going southbound, witnesses say that he threatened to shoot them and was lifting up his shirt.
Passengers were terrified and called police.
Officers did not find a gun on May, but did recover a 12-inch knife and some sort of baton.
May faces several charges including menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.
