GLENDALE, N.Y. (WABC) -- A driver is under arrest in the hit and run accident that injured an off-duty NYPD detective in Glendale, Queens Wednesday night.
50 year old Ellen Rivera-Moya was arrested in connection with the crash at Cooper Avenue and 80th Street just after 10 p.m.
The 48 year old detective was struck walking in the crosswalk across Cooper Avenue by the vehicle, which was turning from 80th Street.
Police say Rivera-Moya, driving a 2013 Nissan Rogue, did not stop and continued west on Cooper Avenue.
The officer sustained a non life threatening head laceration. He spent the night at Jamaica Hospital for observation, where he is listed in stable condition.
He is a detective assigned to a Housing Authority unit in Brooklyn.
