PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. (WABC) -- Police have identified the body of a man who was killed in an explosion and fire in a Long Island garage.

The blast wiped out a garage behind a house in Port Washington last Tuesday.

The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Michael MacNeill.

Authorities were responding to a domestic dispute at the home shortly before the blast.

Arriving officers smelled gas fumes, and the detached garage exploded and burst into flames after they led a woman and a 2-year-old girl to safety.

Investigators have said the explosion was planned and was caused by an accelerant.

Four firefighters and a police officer suffered minor injuries.
