Kitten found barely alive in garbage can on Long Island, two bags of trash on top

The 6-7 week old kitten was found in Island Park Tuesday when sanitation workers came across it while picking up the garbage on Nassau Lane.

ISLAND PARK, N.Y. (WABC) -- A kitten was found in a garbage can on Long Island, with two bags of trash placed on top of it.



The 6-7 week old kitten was found in Island Park Tuesday when sanitation workers came across it while picking up the garbage on Nassau Lane.



The sanitation workers rushed the kitten to an animal hospital where veterinarians worked to save its life.



The Nassau County SPCA says the kitten was barely alive and is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible.
