Lincoln Center celebrates 60th anniversary with Diamond Jubilee Gala

LINCOLN CENTER, Manhattan (WABC) -- Lincoln Center celebrated its 60th anniversary on Sunday night.

The Diamond Jubilee Gala was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, and honored four families who have had a 'transformative influence' on the center.

Lincoln Center began life as a 'renewal project' for the area.

In 1959, then President Dwight Eisenhower came to break ground on what would become one of the world's most famous cultural institutions.
