UPPER WEST SIDE, Manhattan (WABC) -- The famed Lincoln Plaza Cinemas on Manhattan's Upper West Side will soon shut its doors.
According to the building owner, the cinema will close in January because it is at the end of its lease, therefore they can take advantage and repair vital structural work as well as waterproof the plaza around the building.
The six-screen theater opened back in 1981.
The cinema is expected to reopen after the work is complete.
