Race For NYC Mayor: What's happened so far, what comes next?

NEW YORK (WABC) -- The election for New York City mayor is still months away, but the candidates are making regular campaign appearances as they work to persuade voters they are the right choice for the job.

Frontrunner and Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, incumbent Mayor Eric Adams and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa are also working to earn endorsements as the clock ticks closer toward election day on November 4.

Mayor Eric Adams sat down one-on-one with Eyewitness News anchor Bill Ritter as the New York City mayoral race heats up.

Among the issues that were discussed was why Adams won't pledge to get out of the race, saying he thinks Andrew Cuomo would be worse for the city than Zohran Mamdani.

Bill Ritter sat down for a one-on-one interview with Mayor Eric Adams at Gracie Mansion.

Days after announcing his intention to stay in the race for New York City mayor as an independent candidate, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo spoke one-on-one with Eyewitness News reporter N.J. Burkett.

The former governor says he grossly underestimated Mamdani right up until election night, and explained his reaction.
