NJ's Florham Park cancels 'Tribute to Elvis' concert due to excessive heat, severe storms risk
Florham Park has canceled Jesse Garron's "Tribute to Elvis" concert in New Jersey on Sunday amid dangerous conditions from the ongoing heat wave.
According to event organizers, the concert, part of the Florham Park Gazebo Concert Series, is being canceled due to excessive heat and the risk for severe storms.
"The current forecast from the National Weather Service is calling for an expected heat index of 103 degrees with SEVER thunder storms expected beginning at 6 p.m.," organizers announced. "We feel that this cancellation is in the best interest to insure the safety of our committee volunteers, emergency services, production staff, band members and audience."
Organizers added that the show will not be rescheduled, and asks the public to not call the Florham Park Police Department for updates on the concert.
Prospective attendees can visit Jesse Garon's website to view the schedule for his other upcoming shows in the nearby area.
