Severe storms trigger flash flooding, possible tornadoes across Tri-State | Live updates

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Rounds of severe storms triggered downpours, flash flooding, damaging winds and possible tornadoes on Tuesday, just days after storms walloped New York City and the Tri-State area over the weekend.
The second dose of dangerous storms led to tornado warnings and watches being issued by the National Weather Service, which have since expired as the severe weather conditions move offshore.

Parts of New Jersey were particularly hard-hit by Tuesday's storms, including Stanhope, where a possible tornado was spotted.
A video posted on social media also showed a funnel cloud on the ground at a golf center in Parsippany, about one mile north of the Troy Hills area.
NWS will survey those two locations on Wednesday for possible tornadoes.
And while some afternoon storms on Wednesday won't be as severe, the NWS has put New York City and much of the Tri-State area at a marginal risk (1 out of 5) for for severe thunderstorms with the primary threat being damaging winds.

Storm topples trees in Corona, Queens, crushes cars on 95th Street
A fastmoving storm tore through 95th Street at 41st Avenue, toppling trees and crushing parked vehicles as residents scrambled for safety.
Leonor Estevez said her Honda Civic was destroyed just days after she underwent knee replacement surgery.
"I feel so bad. I need the car," she said, choking up. "Because I had the surgery I can't walk well. I can't do nothing."
Dashcamera video captured one tree falling between two moving vehicles, narrowly missing a driver. A witness described the moment as "A boom. A big boom."
Residents said the storm intensified quickly as dark clouds rolled in. Corona resident Rosy Rodriguez said she rushed inside when the rain began.
"It was very crazy. The rain was very-I was outside smoking a cigarette when the rain started. And I was like no it's time to go upstairs," Rodriguez said.
A second vehicle, a Honda Pilot, was crushed moments later. Esteban Comina said he ran downstairs when he saw the damage to his father's car.
"I don't know what to say to be honest. These days it's raining a lot a lot," he said. "But thank God there wasn't another car coming on the street, thank God there's no people walking-because sometimes that happens and it could be more bad for the people."
No injuries or deaths were reported. Comina said his family is unsure whether their insurance will cover the storm damage, leaving them with lingering concerns even after the storm passed.

The risk for severe weather is decreasing Tuesday night, however a majority of the area is in a marginal risk (level 1/5) for severe thunderstorms on Wednesday, with the primary threat being damaging winds.
