NEW YORK (WABC) -- An AccuWeather Alert is in effect Thursday for heavy rain and strong storms hitting New York City and the Tri-State area.

A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for all of New York City until 7:15 p.m. Flood Warnings are also in effect for parts of New Jersey.

A Severe Storm Watch is in effect for New York City and the Tri-State area through 8 p.m.

A Flood Watch has been issued for New York City, New York's Hudson Valley and much of New Jersey through the evening.

Flooding has been reported from the Major Deegan in the Bronx to Staten Island to parts of New Jersey.
