LIE open again after accident halts traffic in both directions

GLEN COVE (WABC) -- Traffic is moving again on the Long Island Expressway after a serious accident closed all lanes in both directions at Glen Cove Road Thursday morning.

The crash happened in the eastbound lanes between exits 39 and 40 around 6 a.m.

Traffic was at a complete standstill, backed up for miles.

The highway was fully reopened by 8 a.m.
