JACKSON HEIGHTS (WABC) -- Mayor Bill de Blasio hosted a town meeting in Queens Thursday night, focusing on education.

The mayor and Schools Chancellor Carmen Farina faced a full auditorium at PS 69 in Jackson Heights.

Parents, teachers and students had questions on almost every challenge for the New York City public schools.

"We put in $20 million in the last budget for additional arts education it is not enough," said the mayor. "I'm looking you in the eye and saying we are not all the way to where we need to be. We have started on the path to trying to get arts education to the level where it should be at."

This was the mayor's second town hall since taking office.

The first meeting, held last month in Washington Heights, dealt with the issues facing the city's millions of tenants.
