Woman critically hurt after pinned between taxis in Midtown

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN (WABC) -- A woman was critically hurt when she was pinned between two taxis in Midtown Manhattan Monday morning.

The 42-year-old woman was putting her luggage in the trunk of a taxi on 7th Avenue near 50th Street shortly before 6 a.m. when another hit her from behind.

She was taken by ambulance to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition with leg injuries. Police say she was expected to survive.

Both taxis remained on the scene. No charges were immediately filed.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
