SPRING VALLEY, Rockland County (WABC) -- The search for a missing 10-year-old girl from Rockland County ended with police finding her in Manhattan Tuesday afternoon.

Now detectives are interviewing her to try and determine what happened to her.

Police said the missing girl ran away and was not kidnapped.

Kelly Rivera-Pillco, 10, was last seen Monday morning in Spring Valley on the corner of Bethune Boulevard and Ben Wild Road waiting for her school bus at 8:15 a.m.

Police were searching for her, concerned that she might be in danger after she failed to board the school bus or attend school. On Tuesday morning, they said she had run away.

Officials said she took a cab from the bus stop to Manhattan, and has been sending social media messages, saying that she is OK. Police said they think she was trying to see her father in Queens.

Officials could not initially pinpoint her location since she is messaging using an iPod and can only send messages when she has WiFi. She apparently disappeared after an argument with her mother, police said.

A large group of volunteers and officials looked for Kelly into the night.
