Human remains found in Aruba could belong to Natalee Holloway

ARUBA (WABC) -- Human remains found in Aruba could potentially belong to Natalee Holloway, ABC News has learned.

Preliminary DNA tests reveal that the recently discovered human remains belong to a Caucasian person of European descent, which matches Holloway's description.

According to Oxygen.com, more conclusive DNA tests are expected to reveal whether the bone fragments belong to Holloway.

The full DNA results will reportedly be released next month.

Holloway disappeared more than 12 years ago when she went on a high school trip to Aruba. She was declared dead in 2012.

The 18-year-old was last seen with 30-year-old Joran Vandersloot, who is currently imprisoned in Peru for the murder of a different woman.
