NEW YORK (WABC) -- New Jersey Transit Northeast Corridor service has resumed in both directions between Trenton Transit Center and New York Penn Station after police activity near the Jersey Avenue Station.

Authorities say the suspension was due to a suspicious package on an Amtrak train in New Brunswick.

The suspension took effect around 10:40 a.m. Tuesday.

Passengers were removed from the train, and the package was cleared.

Passengers were put back on the train and continued on, and the suspension was cleared by 11:30 a.m.
