NEW YORK (WABC) -- "Captain America: Civil War" took Lower Manhattan on Wednesday night.
The New York premiere of the latest installment of the films brought together 12 Marvel super heroes.
Stars including Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner and Paul Rudd walked the red carpet in Battery Park City.
Robert Downey, Jr. was there too and he says this film is bigger and better.
"The filmmakers created a great story, and look, I like it when these things get good reviews because it actually validates this genre of filmmaking, and I think this one has been received about as well as we could have imagined," Downey said.
"Captain America: Civil War" hits theaters nationwide on Friday.
Eyewitness News Entertainment Reporter Sandy Kenyon was on Facebook Live as the stars walked the red carpet.
