Woman hit, killed by MTA bus in East Village

EAST VILLAGE, Manhattan (WABC) -- A 73-year-old woman was struck and killed by an MTA bus in the East Village Tuesday morning.

The incident happened at 9:45 a.m., as the M14 bus was making a left turn Columbia Street onto East Houston Street. The victim, identified as Anna Colon, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The bus was in service at the time, and there were passengers on board. No other injuries were reported.

Police are investigating the accident, and there are no arrests or summons at this time.
