A 23 foot Sea Ray boat crashed into a jetty at the entrance of the Patchogue River, just after 9 Sunday night.

Seven people were on the boat when it was hit, but police say the driver ran off.

One passenger, 29-year old Danielle Virgilio of Farmingdale, was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The vessel suffered extensive damage and was secured in place. Police are attempting to locate the owner, who is responsible for removing it from the rocks.
