Man arrested after Long Island Bank of America robbery

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. (WABC) -- Police arrested a man in the robbery of a Long Island bank this week.

According to Suffolk County Police, on Tuesday, Nicholas Arettines went to Bank of America on Motor Parkway in Hauppauge and gave the teller a note demanding cash. The teller gave the man cash from the drawer and he fled, possibly to a car.

He was later found near Brentwood State Park, where he was taken into custody.

Arettines, 31, of Brentwood, was charged with third-degree robbery. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
