NEW YORK (WABC) -- Diane Sawyer will not stop bringing you stories from around the world, but she has stepped away from the anchor desk. Wednesday's broadcast of World News was her last.

"With gratitude for all these years I thank you and I'll see you right back here on ABC News very soon. Good night," Sawyer said.

ABC News' Weekend Anchor David Muir will take over for Diane. His first day is Tuesday.
