EAST HARLEM (WABC) -- Police are looking for a man who broke into an East Harlem apartment and tried to rape the tenant, and they're hoping a sketch will lead to an arrest.

The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. on Monday September 1 inside the apartment on East 106th Street.

Investigators say the 59-year-old victim woke up and found the man in her apartment.

The suspect pulled the victim's ankle and attempted to pull her pajama pants down, but she screamed and the suspect fled the apartment though the open living room window.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set, light-skinned Hispanic male, approximately 25 years old, with short black hair, standing 5-foot-6 and weighing 220 pounds.

He was wearing khaki pants and a similar colored T-shirt.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
