Lifeguards rescue distressed swimmers in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Long Island (WABC) -- Rescuers dove in the waters off of Long Beach to save two swimmers who were struggling to get to shore.

Two people were pulled out of the water Saturday night around 7:30 near Riverside Boulevard.

One person was taken to an area hospital to be checked out.

Both of the swimmers received summonses for being in the water after lifeguards were no longer on duty.
