CLIFTON, New Jersey (WABC) -- Police arrested a man accused of impersonating a police officer in New Jersey.

Authorities say a man driving a white car used a police siren to pull over a woman in Clifton.

But when she asked him for identification, he got back in the car and drove away.

The woman called police and they later found the suspect, arresting 28-year-old Juan Almonte-Peralta of Paterson.

He faces numerous charges, including impersonating a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

Police determined that the vehicle, a white Ford Crown Victoria, had just been stolen from Bergen Avenue in Clifton about fifteen minutes prior to the reported incident.
