East Village housing shooting leaves 1 man dead

EAST VILLAGE, Manhattan (WABC) -- A 22-year-old man was shot in the courtyard of an East Village apartment complex Friday morning.

The victim was shot in the torso while in the courtyard of the city run Lillian Wald Houses just before 2 a.m.

He was rushed to Beth Israel Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests were immediately made and the shooting is under investigation.
