West Village slashing leaves man injured

WEST VILLAGE, Manhattan (WABC) -- One man slashed another during a dispute at a Halal truck near West Broadway Friday.

Just after 3:30 a.m., the victim, a 55-year-old businessman from Florida, got into a dispute with another man after stopping at a Halal truck on Canal Street.

The victim pushed the man away, and the suspect slashed him in the neck, police said.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was treated and released.

He fled west on Canal Street, possibly carrying a black backpack.
