NEW YORK (WABC) -- A Rikers Island inmate accused of trying to sexually assault a guard has been indicted.

Raleek Young, 27, already in prison for raping a 13-year-old girl, is charged with attempted rape and half a dozen other crimes.

He is accused of forcing the corrections officer into a bathroom where the attack took place. The jail unit is getting automatic electronic doors to provide greater protection for officers.

Dozens of Rikers guards showed up for the court hearing alongside the female guard who was attacked.

Young, who weighs nearly 300 pounds, attacked the female guard at the end of February, grabbing, kissing and choking her before dragging her into a bathroom.

He'd been allowed out of one of two housing modules controlled by the female officer to get a mattress for the night. Two other officers got inmates to help break through a plexiglass window to rescue the woman.
