Search for armed robbery suspect on LI who torched getaway vehicle

HEWLETT, Long Island (WABC) -- Police on Long Island are searching for the suspect in an armed robbery who then apparently set his getaway vehicle on fire.

Cops say the man robbed a 7-Eleven in Hewlett Friday morning, then fled in a white vehicle similar to an Access-A-Ride bus.

Just over an hour later, that same bus was discovered on fire at Green Acres Mall, but the man was nowhere to be found.
