FREEPORT (WABC) -- A social studies teacher at Massapequa High School's Ames Campus is facing heroin charges after getting pulled over for a broken tail light.
According to police, 33-year-old Kerri Creegan of Rockville Centre was driving southbound on the Babylon Turnpike in Freeport when officers stopped her.
During the traffic stop, Nassau County police say they found a glassine bag containing heroin.
She was arrested and charged with heroin possession.
Creegan teaches ninth-grade social studies.
The Massapequa school district declined to comment, saying it is a personnel matter and an active investigation. The district says it is cooperating with investigators.
