Bronx 1-car crash leaves 26-year-old woman dead

BRONX (WABC) -- Police are investigating a deadly crash on Pelham Parkway in the Bronx late Monday.

The driver of a Honda lost control at Fish Avenue around 11:20 p.m., flipping over repeatedly and then slamming into a parked car and a tree.

The impact ripped the car apart.

The 34-year-old driver was rushed to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition with injuries to his head and body. His 26-year-old passenger, identified as Paula Reyes, was killed in the crash. She was found unconscious and unresponsive and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
