NEW YORK (WABC) -- There's no jail time and just a small fine for the taxi driver who hit and killed a child on the Upper West Side.
Koffi Komlani plead guilty Monday to a traffic infraction.
His driver's license has been suspended for six months and he'll pay a $500 fine.
Komlani's cab was making a left turn onto West End Avenue last year when he hit and killed 9-year-old Cooper Stock.
Cooper's parents are outraged that Komlani did not face more serious charges.
"My son's life is worth a $580 fine? I mean, where do they even come up with that number? It's such an insult, it's so wrong," said Dana Lerner, Cooper's mother.
The Taxi and Limousine Commission refused to renew Komlani's hack license last year.
It says he can technically reapply, but he'd be subject to a stringent review of his record.
