NYACK (WABC) -- Drivers in one Rockland County town can now get a "Free 15" in the downtown area.
Nyack officials rolled free 15-minute metered parking for the areas in and around Main Street and Broadway.
The "Free 15" initiative allows drivers to print a ticket at any one of the village's muni-meters for a quick errand or to grab takeout without having to pay any money.
Authorities in the waterfront town devised the plan for easy parking along Main Street and Broadway after meeting with business owners.
Nyack's parking meters remain in effect from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Parking is free on Sundays from 6 a.m. until midnight. On-street parking is 25 cents for 15 minutes; parking lots are 25 cents for 20 minutes.)
