LONG BEACH ISLAND, N.J. -- A 35-year-old man was killed in a boating accident Sunday afternoon on the Barnegat Bay in Ocean County.
The U.S. Coast Guard tells us two boats, a 36-foot speedboat and 16-foot Carolina Skiff, crashed off the coast of Long Beach Island in the Barnegat Inlet.
The impact tossed three people overboard, officials say.
The Coast Guard quickly arrived, pulling them out of the water.
Chanhee Kang of Hainesport, New Jersey, who was the operator of the 16-foot boat, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second victim was treated and released for minor injuries at a local hospital.
No word, at this time, which boater was at fault.
