Pedestrian victim of hit-and-run on Carleton Avenue in East Islip

EAST ISLIP, N.Y. (WABC) -- A pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run incident in East Islip early Saturday morning.

Around 3 a.m., a man was crossing Carleton Avenue, just south of Sunrise Highway, when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.

The man was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he is in critical condition.

The vehicle was described as possibly a pickup truck. The investigation is continuing.
