A cat in Orange County is counting his 9 lives after being found abused and neglected

ORANGE COUNTY (WABC) -- A cat who was abused, neglected and even shot by a BB gun is now recovering.

Pets Alive in Orange County says the house cat, now named Blizzard, was one of three found abandoned outside an apartment complex in Middletown.

The cat was emaciated and suffering from a number of medical problems.

An X-ray also revealed BB pellets embedded in a broken leg and sternum.

Staff member Danielle Eisenberg is looking forward to the day that Blizzard can be adopted into a new home.

"I am so glad that he is getting better and back in our care, so he can get the love and attention he so much deserves," she said. "He is truly a representation of why we exist as an organization."
