Fire tears through headquarters of City Council candidate in Brooklyn

BROWNSVILLE, Brooklyn (WABC) -- A two-alarm fire tore through the campaign headquarters of a City Council candidate in Brooklyn Sunday night.

The fire burned the storefront headquarters of Alicka Samuel on Belmont Avenue in Brownsville just after 9:15 p.m.

The fire burned through the campaign office and an adjacent thrift shop before being brought under control.

FDNY fire marshals determined that it was an electrical fire and was accidental.
