7 people hurt, including 1 FDNY firefighter, in Bronx apartment fire

MELROSE, Bronx (WABC) -- A firefighter and six others are injured after a fire broke out at an apartment in the Bronx Wednesday morning.

According to the FDNY, the fire started inside the apartment on E. 155th Street between Courtlandt and Melrose avenues in the Melrose section at 6:59 a.m.

12 units with 60 fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene.

EMS treated the injured and transported them to Lincoln Hospital. Their conditions are not yet known.

The fire was brought under control at 7:36 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
