4 injured in early morning apartment fire in Jamaica, Queens

JAMAICA HILLS, Queens (WABC) -- Four people were injured after an apartment fire broke out early Monday morning in the Jamaica Hills section of Queens.

The fire started in a first-floor apartment of a building on 165th Street just before 4 a.m.

Fire officials say four residents suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken for treatment.

Other residents were safely evacuated from the smoke-filled apartment building as firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
