MIDTOWN, Manhattan (WABC) -- New York City police released new images of the suspect they are looking for after NFL player Kris Boyd was shot in Midtown over the weekend.

The New York Jets cornerback was taken to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition but is now said to be stable.

Boyd was shot through the stomach and the bullet is now lodged in the lung. He has undergone several procedures.

Police are working around the clock to find the person who pulled the trigger. Eyewitness News obtained new video of the person police are trying to track down.

The man was last seen wearing a black cap, black sweatshirt, black pants, multi-colored sneakers and carrying a black book bag.

Boyd told detectives he was shot during a dispute outside Sei Less, an Asian fusion restaurant on West 38th Street around 2 a.m. Sunday. The motive is unclear, but detectives are looking into a possible attempted robbery of his necklace.

As many in the NFL react to the shooting, teammate and friend Jermaine Johnson took to social media writing in part, "Everybody please send prayers to my brother and teammate Kris Boyd and his family!"

"He just had a child, and you know, you think about those people in his life, and pray for him and his family, and hopefully everything will be all right," said Jets tight end Jeremy Ruckert.

The Jets also released a brief statement saying they're aware of the situation involving Boyd, but did not provide further details.

Boyd, a cornerback, is in his first season with the Jets after signing a one-year, $1.6 million contract in free agency, but hasn't played after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury in the preseason.

He was a seventh-round draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2019. He spent four seasons with the Vikings before playing for the Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans.

Sei Less, which has hosted athletes, musicians and even Mayor Eric Adams back in 2022, released a statement Monday that they are cooperating with detectives and have turned over "the appropriate security footage."

"The altercation involving Kris Boyd occurred outside our establishment and after the restaurant had closed," the statement said. "Since the onset of the police investigation, we have been fully cooperative with law enforcement and shared the appropriate security footage to assist their inquiry. The safety of our customers and employees is of utmost importance and we take tremendous pride in having cultivated a safe and welcoming dining environment for all."

Anyone with information regarding is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
