NJ Transit will build temporary bus terminal at Metlife Stadium for World Cup

NEW JERSEY (WABC) -- New Jersey Transit will build a temporary bus terminal to help with transportation for travelers attending the FIFA World Cup from all over the world.

The temporary bus terminal will shuttle matchgoers to and from MetLife Stadium and Secaucus Junction.

8 matches, including the final, which will be played at MetLife Stadium.

The NJT board approved $100 million to construct the terminal at MetLife near the current train station.

The money will also be used to repaint and redesign roads between MetLife and Secaucus and add traffic light technology.

The goal is to move 20,000 people an hour.

Construction on the terminal is expected to start next month after the Jets and Giants complete their season.
