JERSEY CITY (WABC) -- Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that injured multiple juveniles on Monday in Jersey City.
Police said after 5 p.m., police were called to Wilkinson Avenue between Ocean and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive for a report of multiple individuals struck by a vehicle.
Police said four male juveniles, ages 13, 17, 15 and 17, were hit by a car.
The four teenagers were operating two motorized mopeds when they were hit by a sedan, police said.
The sedan did not remain at the scene.
"I was on my way up the stairs. I heard it just crashes, "Yahmel Shaw said.
Shaw was sitting on the porch when the 20-year-old saw his young cousin and his friends lying in the middle of the street.
"Once I saw the kids on the ground, I immediately picked up my cousin, put him on the porch. Once, I helped him. I ran back. I saw another kid, he was under a car. He said he couldn't move, so I helped him as much as I could," Shaw said.
Surveillance video shows teens running for help just after the incident and the car drove away.
"It was bad, like bad. He had two broken legs. A broken hip," Shaw said.
Neighbors said the group of teens is often riding bikes in the neighborhood.
All four juveniles were taken to Jersey City Medical Center, and three of them remained hospitalized but are in stable condition.
The vehicle suspected of being involved in the collision was recovered, police said.
No arrests have been made.
The investigation is ongoing.
