President Trump says he will try again to kill NYC congestion pricing

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- President Donald Trump took to social media on Monday, saying that he will try once more to kill New York City's congestion pricing program.

In a post to Truth Social, the president said he's asking Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy to take what he calls, "a good, long look at terminating" the program.

Trump claims the tolls have turned the city into a "ghost town."

He has consistently opposed congestion pricing, even declaring it dead in February.

The city, state and the MTA have resisted his prior efforts to pull the plug on the tolling system.

Gov. Kathy Hochul responded to the president's comments on Monday, saying "The trump administration tried once before to kill congestion pricing and lost. If they want to try again, we'll see them in Court. The cameras are staying on."
